[MEncoder-users] AVI with more audio streams

It is not clear for me from the docs: can mencoder create AVI file
that is containing more than one audio stream? If yes how?

E.g. I dumped two stream from a dvd:
mplayer dvd://1 -aid 129 -dumpaudio -dumpfile audio_1.ac3
mplayer dvd://1 -aid 131 -dumpaudio -dumpfile audio_2.ac3

And what next? (mencoder dvd://1 -ovc lavc -lavcopts \
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=<etc.> -o dvd.avi ... ???)

2nd question: is the two-pass encoding always risky concerning the A/V
desynchronization when not using the simple "-oac copy" option and one
should always check the obtained video, or is there a "foolsafe" way if
one wants to (re)encode the audio stream (e.g. with mp3lame)?

What does it mean: "As long as MEncoder _sees_ the audio.."
(in the paragraph starting with "You need to have Mencoder..." in
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/menc-feat-dvd-mpeg4.html#menc-feat-dvd-mpeg4-audio)

TIA,
sZs
