[MEncoder-users] encode sequence of jpegs into Apple Motion JPEG-A quicktime in Linux

Hello,

I've been trying to convert a sequence of jpeg images in to a quicktime,
using the Apple Motion JPEG-A codec. It needs to be this for an external
application to import.

I've been trying to work it out for ages, and I'm up against a brick wall
now. Could anyone please help?

So, first question: is it possible, in principle. I'm pretty sure I've got
all the 'extra' codecs working. as I can do things like:

mencoder "mf://*.jpg" -o mencoder.mov -of lavf -ovc vfw -xvfwopts
codec=divx.dll

but I just can't figure out a combination to get the Apple Motion JPEG-A
working.

Second question: if it is possible, how?

Third question, if I can't do this in mencoder, any other suggestions for
generating such a quicktime? Some other motion-jpeg codec might be useable
(ie no temporal compression). This needs to be on Linux, I can do it fine on
a Mac.

Thanks
David
