[MEncoder-users] Reading DVD-VR

My dvd recorder can record dvd-rw in two modes: V and VR. V mode seems to be 
the standard, any dvd player should be able to play them. Of course mplayer 
(xine and so on) can read them. 

But on the other hand mplayer seems not to be able to read dvds in VR mode. Is 
there any way to read those discs?
