[MEncoder-users] Similar use of crop and expand?

Hi,

I've just tried out the following method from the FAQ to have subtitles 
displayed on a black rectangle under the film, like this:

$ mplayer -dvd-device HIGH_FIDELITY/ dvd://1 -aid 128 -sid 2 -vf 
expand=0:-210:0:0

Question: how can I use -vf crop at the same time, so the black border I 
see is *only* the one I need for subtitles?
