Gaicomo,

  I modified scale to use =320:-2 which resized the image to a width of 320
while automatically setting the height using the aspect ratio of the image.
This worked BEATIFULLY!!! My subs are now completely filled and so much more
readable on my Verizon VX6700 PDA-Phone.

I'm so glad I found out that Clone DVD Mobile was based off of mencoder. Not
only can I modify mencoder to prevent all the issues I had with that
software, but it's completely free!

When I get home tonight, I'm going to add the high quality video encoding
parameters and create a final video for my archive. Then it's off to do all
my other dvds

-zoom -xy 320 are really not necessary with mencoder.
You should use -vf scale with appropriate arguments like -vf scale=320:0
(the numeric example I give [scale=320:0] is just an example. I don't
remember right now the correct usage for dealing with the aspect ratio;
check the documentation).
