[MEncoder-users] encoding ac3 audio from dvd

Gang,
I am trying to rip the audio from a DVD in the ac3 format. Seems very simple according to the mplayer homepage documentation. However, I get errors when I try to rip it (listed below):

Try adding "echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq" to your system startup scripts.

Any ideas?
