[MEncoder-users] Creating animated screenshots

I have used mencoder to render fair few movies from png files and
used following command

mencoder "mf://myfiles*.png" -mf fps=18 -o mymovie.mpg -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=msmpeg4v2:vbitrate=9000

Fine for jpegs as well as far as i can recall from one time I did it.

These play Ok on my WinXP and well as on Win2K, both on their own and when
inserted to powerpoint. I found that for some reason files with .avi
extension failed on powerpoint, but the same file with mpg extension
worked well - on their own both work Ok and play with mediaplayer by
default. msmpeg4 codec failed on Win2K in powerpoint for some reason,
hence the msmpeg4v2.

Hope this helps, Marko
