[MEncoder-users] Warbly sound

I've been trying to convert a WMV file to dvd format and it seems to be 
working except that that audio sounds as though the people have been 
breathing helium and are talking through the blades of a fan.

I don't know of any technical word for this but does it ring any bells 
with anyone is there a fix? I'm using the command from the manual for 
converting to NTSC DVD:
