I can try it out, but I wouldn't know how to tell whether it had
done anything, since I don't have trouble viewing it under any
circumstances. I was concerned that maybe somebody I give
copies to might not be able to view them... Though that has not
happened afaik. This thread has made me wonder whether running
a quick pass-thru will render some files more portable, which
seems like a useful thing to know... Maybe even a useful FAQ.

Anyway my arms aren't long enough to reach the computer that has
my files on it, and sending one here by ssh and building mplayer
would have taken longer than writing these emails.
