What you mean is that the input was 29.97fps.  Once WMV has chewed on
it, it's VFR.  The difference is probably because of duplicate
(unchanged) frames.

And?  If you don't like it, don't use this method.

You can use ANY -ofps value and not get A/V sync errors.  -ofps doesn't
work the way you seem to think.
