[MEncoder-users] mencoder -ss ?? doesnt seem to want to work

My command line is
dvd://1 -dvd-device "E:\VIDEO_TS" -sws 2 -oac mp3lame -lameopts 
cbr:br=128:vol=6 -vf scale=720:576  -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1024:keyint=250:aspect=16/9 -ffourcc DIVX -aid 
128 -ofps 25 -ss 5000 -endpos 10mb -ovc 
lavc -noodml  -forcedsubsonly -noautosub -o "C:\TEST ss 5000.avi"


the -endpos of 10mb works fine, as the file stops encoding at 10 mb.

but whatever i try with -ss and 'ive tried

-ss  15:05        - start at 15min 05 secs
-ss  400
-ss 5000


it always starts at the beginning of the input.


any ideas/comments appeciated
