[MEncoder-users] Can't convert 3GP into mpg

Hey all

I have been trying like crazy to convert a 3GP file into mpg using MEncoder.

This is the command line I'm using:

./mencoder v.3gp -of mpeg -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video -o v.mpg -ofps 
24000/1001 -oac copy

The result is a mgp file with the following features:
- only part of video (and first few seconds are black screen)
- no sound

I am running Mencoder version MPlayer-1.0pre7try2 on a Red Hat Linux. For 
installation I did:
- ./configure
- ./make
- ./make install

All help is extremely appreciated!
