[MEncoder-users] Audio loses sync reencoding

Trying to reencode a DivX movie at +1300 bps bitrate to a lower one so
it fits a CD:

$ mencoder -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=700 in.avi -o out.avi

The result is also a DivX (MPEG4) movie at 700 bps bitrate but
unfortunately audio is out of sync.

Is this normal? Should I use -oac whatever instead of -oac copy?

Any ideas welcome.
