[MEncoder-users] How stable is encoding to windows media formats ?

Hi
I have been trying hard since the last few days to encode FLV to windows
media format (AVI or WMV) without any success. I have used all possible
combinations of codecs, msmpeg4, msmpeg4v1, msmpeg4v2, wmv1, wmv2, etc., but
nothing seems to work consistently.

I am trying to convert the video to avi/wmv, and then edit it in windows
movie maker. There is around 40% failure rate (files play in windows media
player, but can't be edited in windows movie maker).
