[MEncoder-users] segfaults xvid 1.1.0/mplayer 1.0_pre8

I just upgraded to xvud 1.1.0 and mencoder seqfaults
at the start of the encode.  Downgrading to 1.0.3
cured it. (gentoo system).

Is this a known problem, or it is peculiar to my system/gentoo?
