Rule of thumb #1: in lossless encoding trust your eyes, not what a
program full of easter eggs tell you ;-P

Rule of thumb #2: saying that lavc generates divx files if not very
respectful of the work done by lavc devs, please bear in mind divx is
just a bastardised MPEG-4 ASP when lavc really does conform to the
norm.
