[MEncoder-users] Mediaplayer can not play the result .avi/.mpg directly copied from DVD

Are you using CVS MEncoder?
If you are, you need to use:

  mencoder dvd://1 -of mpeg -oac copy -ovc copy -mpegopts format=dvd

and possibly some additional options in -mpegopts.
or, why not just use:

  mplayer dvd:// -dumpstream

 - ods15
