[MEncoder-users] avi for mediaplayer

When I encode a series of jpg images with the command

  mencoder "mf://*.jpg" -mf fps=25 -o output.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=wmv2

the resulting file plays fine in mplayer but stops after a few frames when played in Windows Media player or in RealPlayer. Can anybody tell me why?

My platform is WinXP with mplayer 1.0pre7.
