Well. Here is my terminal commands:
$ mencoder dvd://3 -aid 128 -oac copy -ovc frameno -o frameno.avi
$ mencoder dvd://3 -sws 2 -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:mbd=2:vbitrate=1800:vpass=1 -vf crop=854:355:0:62,scale=854
-o movie.avi
$ mencoder dvd://3 -sws 2 -oac copy -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg4:mbd=2:vbitrate=1800:vpass=2 -vf crop=854:355:0:62,scale=854
-o movie.avi
What is interesting: - the second pass makes the video worse than the
first. Also, I've noticed that it's possible to encode without the first
line (that is without separate sound grabbing).
What is wrong?! Or Can You share Your lines with me? - The main purposes
I want to reach are:
. the quality should be excellent;
. the mp-sound is not welcome, therefore I never compress with lame;
. the avi should fit on DVD or half of it.
Any advice is precious to me. Thank You!

Strong.
