hi,

x264 or lavc/xvid?

as i understand, theoretically AVC provides better compression than ASP.

so,
when encoding, does it still make sense to use ASP codecs, or the AVC 
ones provide better quality now?

i do not care about standalone players, so such compatibility issues are 
not important here.
