[MEncoder-users] reencoding from a mkv with subtitles

I do this all the time, but like this:

mencoder -oac mp3lame \
         -ovc lavc \
         -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vqscale=2:vhq:v4mv:trell:vbitrate=1500 \
         -aid 1 \
         -sid 0 \
         -o $file.avi $file.mkv

For encoding, ffmpeg (lavc) rules, IMHO.
