Command-line (from a script, actually). I haven't used it for 2 years and
some of these are obsolete and probably useless now, but here they are:

mencoder -tv on:driver=v4l:device=/dev/video0:width=512:height=384:input=0:outfmt=yv12:chanlist=$TABLE_TV:channel=$CHANNELCL:fps=25:noaudio \
 -vop pp=0x20000 -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=900:v4mv:vqmin=2:vqmax=20:keyint=250 -ofps 25 \
 -nosound
