[Libav-user] About a better string API

Hi.

I have started a discussion on the -devel mailing-list about adopting a
more powerful string API:

The extra complexity of the implementation is of no matter to API users,
but the fact that you would need to learn the API in order to use the
functions that return strings is.

Therefore, I would appreciate if you, as API users, were to weigh in in
the discussion, either by replying to the thread on -devel or by
replying here.
