[Libav-user] Question about 10-bit video data

I am thinking about playing with ffmpeg and 10-bit depth decoder(h265 or
vp9). How does ffmpeg decodes data?
Usualy it gives 8-bit yuv values with planes, strides etc.

How does this translates when 10-bit depth video is used?? What does ir
return in those cases?
