Thanks Carl,
this looks like what I was looking for.
I may have expressed myself wrongly … I don’t want to use it in the command line, but rather with libav.
But I guess I’d compile it with -vcodec h264_vda?
Will it then be used by libavcodec or do I have to specify that when decoding frames?

PS: Is there any resource showing all compiler switches that are available?
