IF you are compiling with Visual Studio, this might be a bug that was 
fixed a few months back.  I think the fix is only in the git master and 
not, for example, in the 1.2.1 release.

The fixed files I believe were:

     libavformat/os_support.h
     libavformat/os_support.c
