Please find the following line in the function 
"check_cc" in the file configure (around line 764):

check_cmd $cc $CPPFLAGS $CFLAGS "$@" -c $(cc_o $TMPO) $TMPC

Change it to the following and report back:
check_cmd $cc $CPPFLAGS $CFLAGS "$@" -c -o $TMPO $TMPC
("-o $TMPO" instead of "$(cc_o $TMPO)")
