Ah, that's useful, thanks - I'll take a look at OBS Studio. I do, however, think there should be a way to do what I want with ffmpeg. If the GUI tool can change the settings, it's hard to believe that there's not a command line option to do the same thing. I'll keep digging through the docs. Regards, Steve
