At the bottom-right of the screen, i have the time appear here. The
computer who generate that time are in sync with the same NTP source as my
computer (using the same software).
When i play the clip from FFPLAY, VLC or the other sofware, i simply move
the screen to be near my time. Then i use snagit, and record the portion of
the screen that include both time (my PC, and the other PC who generate
it). I then open this clip on and editor, and calculate the delay between
the minute shift (record at 60 fps/sec).

Another test, to check the delay, are to open 3 player, and align the,.
Because i also have a crawling bar at the bottom (like CNN), when i allign
them, i can see who are the leader, and who is way behind everyone....

So the 100 ms sec delay i realy got, include all in the chain (network
delay, monitor delay, processing delay in the player,..).

We want to use that return for close-caption. So the "close-captionist" see
the "on-air" return of the show, but before the streamer, there is our CC
inserter device. So the close-captionnist type the new CC on our CC
software, and see the result on the computer screen, with 100ms delay
(approx).

I try VLC without luck (between 1sec and 1.5sec)
