Yeah, I do the same with recording from over-the-air TV, which have
massive bandwidth.

Please share. I did the same once. It's really situation dependant.
Sometimes, I'm willing to save an extra 10 %. Other times, it doesn't
matter so much. I did a few short benchmarks with some arbitrary
material myself, just to have a feeling.
