I seem to remember that to fix the D-Jetronic in my 280 SE, the
suggestion was to go to a Bosch service station (there is one in
Kitzbühel iirc) and not to the Mercedes dealer.
Otoh, a generator was much cheaper (but the same model) when
not bought from the Mercedes dealer.

But afair, we tried to answer your question, I just wanted to make
sure that you understand that the (or at least my) answers may
