I'm curious... did you check to see if the subtitles actually play 
corrected?

When I last tried to convert PGS to dvdsubs, I found the subtitles were 
converted, but when played, none of the subtitles would disappear.  Each 
subtitle would be displayed over top the previous one.

I used an mpeg2-ps (vob) container.
