The "Community Contributed Documentation" section of the wiki is written
by the community (other users) and does not go through a peer review
process like the official documentation does. The wiki is not
considered to be the official documentation; it is meant to supplement
the official documentation, not replace it, although that fact probably
isn't clear to most general users.

That link you provided was mostly written by rogerdpack. I appreciate
the work he put into it, but in my opinion, he has a tendency to write
in a "stream-of-consciousness" style, with less structural formatting,
which does not always make a good result for wiki articles (for me at
least). I have little experience with streaming, so I have not edited
it.

I agree that is not a very helpful description.

You're expected to refer to the official documentation on each option
if the wiki does not explain each and every detail.
