This is apparently the issue on the decoder side.

Support seems to be not so widespread. I don't have any tool other than
ffmpeg which can handle it. ;-)

(I don't know anything about SOF-3 BTW.) You may want to open a trac
ticket with this sample and the output you kindly posted.
