Hi all,
I have an SRT subtitle with embedded HTML formatting („….“). When this is converted to a mov_text subtitle and muxed into an MP4 with ffmpeg, playback of the video crashes player software on Apple T, iOS and QuickTime on Mac OS X 10.11 at exactly the timecode when the formatted subtitle is supposed to appear, even if subtitle playback is turned off.
However, VLC 2.2.1 on Mac OS X plays the same file OK, and renders the … sections correctly in italic.
How can I format a subtitle in italic so it plays well with Apple software?
Thanks!
