Some perhaps some players manage to observe the SAR in WMV, but not in
MP4, or vice versa.

My mplayer does not (and it scales up, not down):
  VO: [xv] 720x480 => 720x540 Planar YV12 
My VLC does not.

I'd have to check my Windows Firefox and Opera, my Linux versions
refuse to play H264.
