[FFmpeg-user] Metadata and php/sql

Hi folks,

I want to read out audio-meta-data 'ON THE FLY', then compare with a database (mySQL) and depending on the query-result finally update the same database probably with the aid of php.
the whole thing I imagine flawless and without any saving a file temporary.
are there any ideas how to accomplish this?

I have no idea where to start but my project demands for it.
I appreciate any idea or motivation.
