[FFmpeg-user] live transcoding alignment

I am also interested in this topic. 
I am starting to investigate if there is a way through using ffprobe to get
the keyframes and then use the timing inofrmation for the transcodes.

Carl, 
could I ask on what capture cards you use together with ffmpeg?
Can you access it via directshow?
