You will (still) have to tell us how we would 
be able to reproduce the problem (what you type) 
and what error you get (what you see).

Of course we can all guess (see below) but I 
believe this thread shows very convincingly why 
this is usually not a good idea.

Since this is the default, I don't think this 
helps (he is either searching for "-static" or 
"-L/usr/local/lib" or needs to add the static 
libraries - including path - to his linker 
command line).
