If your app is independent from the ffmpeg executable, 
you don't have to provide your apps source code, but 
no matter if you choose LGPL or GPL for the FFmpeg 
executable, you have to provide the exact FFmpeg sources 
that you used.

If you are using libraries from the FFmpeg project in 
your app, and you don't want to provide your apps 
source code, you should use the libraries under the 
LGPL.

is provided as part of the source code.

Unrelated: Please understand that it makes no 
difference if your app is free or not.
