To get the latest version of ffmpeg, you can follow one of the compilation
guides from the following link:
https://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/wiki/CompilationGuide

I see that there isn't one for Red Hat. You can probably use the Ubuntu
guide, though you'll have to replace all the apt-gets with yum (I think?).

Alternatively, you can try to find a static build from here:
