-ss is confusing, and maybe it could be better named.  But I really don't
understand why, for me, just copying the file with ffmpeg should speed up
taking a snap from many minutes (unacceptable) to a second or two (perfect).
Is there something that I could do, for instance in the way I close the
file, that would make a difference.  Is there an index to key frames held in
the zeroth record, for instance, that is not being written properly by me
but is by ff?
