[FFmpeg-user] Cannot stream live in FLV format. SWF works. Why?

I wish that someone came up with fool-proof instructions
1. Add this section to /etc/ffserver.conf
   <Stream ...>
   ...
   </Stream>
1. start ffserver
2. run ffmpeg - i ... http|rstp://localhost:...
3. direct browser|vlc to http|rtsp://localhost...

ffmpeg seems excellent software. It is a pity that the documentation is so limited that everyone says "don't use ffmpeg. use something else" on the ffmpeg user list.
