Rhodri James said where to look, though. In that 2001 paper I linked,
in the introduction page xvii, it more clearly states:

"Chrominance formats
This part of ISO/IEC 14496 currently supports the 4:2:0 chrominance format."

That might be a little clearer than the table shows on page 111.
