Well, the FFmpeg mpeg4 encoder certainly only supports YUV420P (line
1352 of http://git.videolan.org/?p=ffmpeg.git;a=blob;f=libavcodec/mpeg4videoenc.c;h=411f4365dc5376a0dd2c249cb2c07a933f1590ec;hb=HEAD).
But I think that's because the MPEG4 Part 2 standard only allows
yuv420. I haven't read it though, so I can't say with total
confidence.
