[FFmpeg-user] problem installing ffmpeg

Hello,
     I am installing ffmpeg following the steps given in the link 
http://www.kdenlive.org/user-manual/downloading-and-installing-kdenlive/installing-source/installing-ffmpeg. 
I got the following error.


ERROR: libmp3lame >= 3.98.3 not found

If you think configure made a mistake, make sure you are using the latest
version from Git.  If the latest version fails, report the problem to the
ffmpeg-user at ffmpeg.org mailing list or IRC #ffmpeg on irc.freenode.net.
Include the log file "config.log" produced by configure as this will help
solving the problem.


I was looking for lame version 3.98.3 on 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lame/files/lame/ but its not there. 
please if you can see the I am following steps are correct. If not, 
please guide. Hoping for your needful.
