Updating my MCsoft with the Avid patch means that the files now play
correctly on that system. I have yet to test on a nitris box.

Amy I correct in understanding that the syntax is:-
ffmpeg -i [....] -vcodec dnxhd -nitris_compat 1 [.....] out.dnx

Since --help says its value is <int>
