Yeah I had trouble with ffmpeg presets (-vpre), but that wasn't
what Etienne suggested I use. He suggested -preset which seems to
map directly to x264 presets. Plus once I'd specified a preset,
my -crf flag was also honoured. I'm getting excellent results
now.
