Looks like there was some issue with applying the patch, not sure why. Re
applied it with:

git apply patchversionsh.diff

gmake libavutil/ffversion.h
GEN libavutil/ffversion.h
./version.sh: !: not found
barney(bradm) cat libavutil/ffversion.h

#define FFMPEG_VERSION "git-2014-06-17-61df081"

Looks like it generated it!
