 Note: This is a "port" of a ticket submitted to the MythTV bug tracker :
 http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/9373

 That ticket was solved by modifying the version of FFmpeg that MythTV
 carries in its own source tree.

 As I understand it, in some DVB-S providers' streams, the display segment
 is missing, causing DVB subtitles to be ignored.
